Enabling Possibilities: Rethinking academic computing in a connected world

In the last decade, academic computing has been defined by learning spaces, courseware and boutique projects most commonly associated with a single institution. Those who worked in academic computing rarely had to concern themselves with the activities beyond one's own campus. This presentation will explore how ubiquitous networking, open standards, and social networking are fundamentally transforming the very nature of academic computing and its role in research, learning, and scholarship.
