geant PERFSONAR multi-domain monitoring service deployment and support: the LHC-OPN use case

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is currently coming into operation at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. The large amounts of data to be produced by the LHC are scheduled to be sent to data processing and storage centres around the world.
The LHCOPN is an Optical Private Network which will enable communication and data sharing between CERN as T0 and 11 national T1s.
The chosen monitoring service is a combination of perfSONAR MDM (Multi Domain Monitoring) and HADES/BWCTL.
DANTE Service Desk is responsible for deploying the services (with a direct support to the 11 sites) providing a centrally managed service to all the sites, with low overheads for the Tier-0/1 network operators involved.
