TERENA

Karel Vietsch

Karel Vietsch has been TERENA's Secretary General since 1996. His responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the TERENA Secretariat staff. He has overall responsibility for the execution of TERENA's policies and activities and he reports to the TERENA Executive Committee. Karel also represents TERENA in contacts with other organisations.
Karel holds a PhD in Mathematics from Leiden University. Before joining TERENA he was a teacher and researcher at Leiden University, a department manager at Delft University of Technology and a policy advisor and head of unit in the Science Policy Department of the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
